The Skamania County Mosquito Control District will begin seasonal activities around March 24, 2025. We will use one of the following larvicides only when mosquito larvae are found.
- VectoMax WSP (Bacillus Sphaericus, Bacillus Thuringiensis Israelensis): specific for mosquito larva
- VectoBac G (Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. israelensis (strain AM65-52) specific for mosquito larvae.
- Vectomax FG (Bacillus Sphaericus, Bacillus Thuringiensis, (subsp) israelensis
- MetaLarv XRP (s) Methoprene
- Natular G30 WSP (Spinosad (a mixture of spinosyn A and spinosyn D)
- Altosid Pellets WSP (S-Methoprene) a growth inhibitor active on early stages of mosquito larva
- Agnique (poly-alpha –w-hydroxy): a monomolecular surface film used for later stages of larva and pupa
Later in the season and only in those areas where adult mosquitoes reach thresholds as specified in the District’s IMM plan or if mosquito-transmitted disease is detected, will the district adulticide using:
- Permasease 4-4 – fogged at a rate between 0.001 and 0.007 pounds per acre
- Biomist 4+4 – fogged at a rate 0.00175-0.007 pounds per acre
Depending on weather conditions, mosquito control activities will continue throughout the season until mid to late October.
